In the year 1760, James Henry Creed founded The House of Creed in England as a tailoring company. King George III ascended the throne of his ancestor’s in 1760 at the young age of 22 years old, and by 1781, James Creed diversified his business into the fragrance industry just by the single act of creating scented leather gloves to give the King a place to rest his chin and inhale the glove’s fine aroma.
King George III was impressed by the creativity of James and commissioned the House of Creed to created its first fragrance which was the Royal English Leather. James’ bullish marketing strategy earned him a place in the midst amongst royals as one of the most sought after in the fragrance industry.
